Movies are a great source of inspiration and learning

Movies are a great source of inspiration. As part of my classroom curriculum, therapy sessions and fostering talents workshops I use movies. I have a student who loves fashion. When I tried to do a science project lesson and create a science project using the movie Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, he immediately saw it from the perspective of “what am I going to wear if it rains”. Needless to say how much he learned with this film and how many outfits he imagined and drew to me. We both had so much fun. He learned about weather, friendship, team work, language skills and thinking maps. Music, movies, dance, fashion and other cultural expressions are wonderful fun vectors of learning and talent.
